We’re back for another Beat & Greet, our last edition had the top-class Brazilian Producer/DJ, Dub Recycle, who let us into his way of thinking and what drives him. This time we catch up with an Electronic Music Producer/DJ as well as Beatworx Alumnus from Bangalore, Aman Anand, currently living in Singapore with releases on labels like Sudbeat, Balkan Connection, Movement Recordings, Juicebox Music to name a few.

Aman Anand switches between the dual roles of being a DJ and producer with ease and finesse. His productions blur the line between electronica, progressive house, and melodic techno, cleverly marrying these different sounds together in the unique way that is his. Aman’s music has seen tremendous support from international heavyweights such as Anthony Pappa, Hernan Cattaneo, Secret Cinema, and more and has also been billed in several dance music hotspots: clubs such as Headquarters, Tuff Club, Kilo Lounge, Cato in Singapore, and The Humming Tree, Pebbles, blueFROG in India.  Aman Anand continues to prove himself as fresh new talent to watch out for, in the music scene both here and abroad.

Check out his latest Promo Mix up on SoundCloud.

I have not been to many parties in Bangalore in recent years but in Singapore, there are many collectives pushing various sounds they believe in. Clubs like Headquarters, Tuff Club and Kilo Lounge are at the forefront of pushing great music every week but along with that, there are a lot of pop up parties that bring equal if not more excitement to the nightlife of Singapore.

Send us at least 2 pictures of your studio/workspace with one or two lines describing the space or gear

I have a fairly small workspace at my house. Ableton Live + Novation Launchkey 25 + Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro + Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 + Arp Odyssey. A very good friend lent me his Push 2 along with his UAD Apollo Twin temporarily which I’m trying to make full use of.

What does your typical day look like?

A typical day involves attending university, listening to music and watching stuff on YouTube.

If you could have produced any record in the world, which one would it be?

Most recently I saw this video of Virtual Riot produce a sick track out a single sample on Andrew Huang’s YouTube channel. I was amazed by the amount of stuff he could do in 24 hours and I wish to learn his production and sound design techniques.

Did you in the past or currently do anything else other than music?

Currently, I’m doing a course in Broadcast Media Production in Singapore.

What is your DJ setup?

How would you compare the nightlife culture of Singapore and Bangalore?

I have not been to many parties in Bangalore in recent years but in Singapore, there are many collectives pushing various sounds they believe in. Clubs like Headquarters, Tuff Club and Kilo Lounge are at the forefront of pushing great music every week but along with that, there are a lot of pop up parties that bring equal if not more excitement to the nightlife of Singapore.
